For those of you who didn't know Paul he was such an incredible optimist in all respects, a happy smiley person with a big personality and loving manner. He had a positive effect on everybody that met him and never spoke badly of anyone that is, unless he was very certain of their badness. I would say that Paul was not particularity a religious man but rather, a man of morals and general goodness, he would always ask after other people "how is your family, give them my best" etc. even in hospital he would always be the perfect gentleman, in pain and obviously very ill but still thanking the nurses and staff after every encounter. He would say to me when I asked how he felt "getting there mate getting there" and then in the same breath ask "how are you doing mate!" Paul was always looking on the bright side, even when life was so determined to knock him down, especially strong and positive during his illness he was so looking forward to getting his chemo treatment, a time that sadly didn't come. He remained positive though and with encouragement from close ones, friends and family he again looked forward to alternative medicines and the possibility of a happier future, right until the last moment he was so positive and always the perfect gentleman. My friend Paul should be an example to us all and will always be remembered by those who knew him, for his inbuilt goodness. The world was a better place when Paul was here! |
