Setup Outlook 97 or 98 and 2000.


Microsoft Outlook 97, 98, and 2000

Outlook allows you to add a new email account to your existing profile. This means you do not have to replace your current settings in order to send and receive your new mail messages.

Microsoft Outlook 97
To add a new email account to your existing profile, do the following:

•From the Tools menu, select "Services."
•Click "Add" and then click "OK."
•In the Available Information Services box, click "Internet Email."
•Click on the "General" tab.
•Type a name for your new Internet email account (for example, "Website Mail ").
•Enter your name. Enter your email address (for example, "user@domain.co.uk").
•Click the "Server" tab.
•In the Incoming Mail (POP3) box, enter "mail.domain.co.uk" change this to your domain.
•In the Outgoing Mail (SMTP) box, enter "smtp.yourisp.co.uk" this information can be found in one of your other accounts or from your isp
•In the Account Name box, enter your entire email address.
•In the Password box, enter your given password.
•Check "Remember Password" if you do not want Outlook to prompt you for your password each time you check your mail.
•Do not check the boxes labeled "Log on using Secure..." or "My server requires authentication." Click "OK."
•Close Microsoft Outlook and restart.

Microsoft Outlook 98 and 2000

To add a new email account to your existing profile:
•From the Tools menu, select "Accounts."
•If you do not see "Accounts," place your cursor over the two arrows at the bottom of the list to display more choices.
•Click the "Add" button.
•From the Add menu, click "Mail."
•Type your name as you would like it to appear when you send a message in the Display name box and click "Next."
•In the Email Address box, enter your email address (for example, "user@domain.co.uk") and click "Next."
•In the box labeled "My incoming mail server is a..." select "POP3" server.
•In the Incoming mail (POP3 or IMAP) server box, type "mail.domain.co.uk" change this to the part after the @ symbol in your email address
•In the Outgoing mail (SMTP) server box, type "smtp.yourisp.co.uk" this information can be found from one of your other accounts or from you isp. Click "Next."
•In the Account Name box, enter your entire email address.
•In the Password box, enter your given password.
•Do not check "Log On Using Secure Password Authentication (SPA)."
•Click "Next." Type a name for your new Internet email account (for example, Website Mail).
•Choose the appropriate connection type under the Which Method Do You Use to Connect to the Internet heading. If you chose "Connect using my phone line," you will need to select a dial-up connection in the Dial up Connection Wizard and click "Next." Click "Finish."
•Close Microsoft Outlook and restart.
