for Windows
95/98/NT MHTC.NET is used as an example and should be substituted for your Domain

2. In the Pegasus Mail Options window, click the "General" tab as shown below. Under the "General" tab, type your full name in the blank at the top. If you prefer anonymity, you may type a nickname instead, or whatever else you like. This setting does not affect the function of the e-mail program; it is just for information purposes. The rest of the items under the "General" tab are matters of personal preference and are best left as they are unless there is a compelling reason to change them. Proceed to step #3.

3. Next, click the "Sending mail" tab at the top of the window shown below. In the top blank labeled "Default 'reply-to' address," type your e-mail address. An example is shown below, but your e-mail address will be unique. The rest of the items under the "Sending mail" tab are matters of personal preference and are best left as they are unless there is a compelling reason to change them. Click the "OK" button at the bottom of the window, and then proceed to step #4.

4. Next, click the "Tools" menu at the top of the program window, and choose "Internet options..." as shown below. That will open another window titled "Internet Mail Options." Proceed to step #5.

5. Next, click the "General" tab at the top of the window, as shown below. In the top blank labeled "My Internet e-mail address is," type your e-mail address. An example is shown below, but your e-mail address will be unique. Then proceed to step #6.

6. Next, click the "Receiving (POP3)" tab at the top of the window, as shown below. In the top blank labeled "POP3 host," type "mail.yourdomain.net" as shown below. In the next blank labeled "User name," type your username in all lowercase characters, as shown below. (This is the username that was chosen on the original application form.) In the next blank labeled "Password," type your password exactly as it appears on the original application form. (It may be a combination of uppercase and lowercase characters.) The rest of the items under the "Receiving (POP3)" tab are matters of personal preference and are best left as they are unless there is a compelling reason to change them. Proceed to step #7.

7. Next, click the "Sending (SMTP)" tab at the top of the window, as shown below. In the top blank labeled "SMTP host," type "mail.yourdomain.net" as shown below. The rest of the items under the "Sending (SMTP)" tab should be configured as shown below unless there is a compelling reason to configure them differently. Then click the "OK" button at the bottom of the window. That completes the configuration process. Next, restart the computer so that the program's new settings are saved, and to refresh the system. The next time the computer is connected to the Internet, the Pegasus Mail program should be able to send and receive e-mail. For more information about the advanced functionality of Pegasus Mail, please refer to the program's extensive online help that is available through the "Help" menu at the top of the Pegasus Mail program window.
